This is a Moopet News Flash

And now it is time for a Moopet News Update with me, The British Corespoondent.

Today it seems as though the whole world has gone Moopet crazy as Disney celebrated some guy called Jim Henson with a touching piece of Moopet Music performed by a less rugged than usual looking Kermoot and an eyebrow-less Roowlf the Doog. Or, at least, I think that is who it is...You can see them in the videoo below. (I am almost certain that I have heard that song before somewhere though...cannot for the life of me figure out where.)

Elsewhere, people have been gooing crazy for the latest and greatest piece of Moopet Merchandise, the Koormit Crown Hat. Seen below being worn by a particularly weird looking Moopet fan from the D23 convention.

In other head-related Moopet Merchandising, do not forget that you can buy your Moopet Spirit Hoooods from here, then you can looook as warm and green as this cute little Moopet Loving Kid!

Furthermore, the Twittersphere (?) has been gooing goo-goo ga-ga over a new Twitter Feed (Is that similar to Bird Seed?) created by the Toughpoogs gang. This twitter feed (know as @Moopetquotes) contains such pearls of wisdom as:

Which is brilliant! Because everyone remembers the time that Goonzo said, "What's wroong with Bus toorminals" in the Great Moopet Cooper. (You know when you start a Takeover week with a great idea and it just becomes more and more trouble as the week goes on? - TBC)

Stay tuned (tooned?) for more (moore?) Moopet Schnanigens as the week goes on until Ryan gets back. Assuming that being surrounded by live-Moopets and enough Moopet merchandise to sink a small ship will not convert your original blog-host to my new fandoom.

Wait...those articles were all about the Moopets, right? I keep getting them mixed up with something else...

News Update: August 11, 2011

NEWS UPDATE: August 11, 2011

Amazon.com recently released previews of all the cover tracks from Muppets: The Green Album, set for release on August 23rd. This means that now we can hear a snippet off every song on the album and get a good feel for what the song will sound like. I really enjoy most all of the songs covered--and of course a few stand out above the rest--but I think I'll just have to hear the whole album before I decide anything firm. So... in conclusion, bring on this album!

Speaking of bringing things on connected with Muppets: The Green Album, in a YouTube video posted the other day, OK Go's Damian Kulash announced that the band would be making a music video together with the Muppets centered around OK Go's cover of "The Muppet Show Theme Song" from The Green Album. This is hugely exciting news for many reasons: one, it's a brand new Muppet music video coming our way; two, it's OK Go, who, no matter what you may think of their music, make incredibly innovative and instantly-viral music videos; and three, putting the Muppets' power of instantly making music videos go viral with OK Go's means instant web sensation. No word on when the music video will be out, but a very reliable source (read: a Muppeteer) has revealed that filming for the video commenced this week.

After months of praise and adoration from the film-going public and critics alike, the highly acclaimed documentary chronicling the careers of both Kevin Clash and Elmo, Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey, is finally going beyond the film festival circuit and reaching public theaters all around the country in big cities including Los Angeles, Seatle, San Francisco, St. Louis, and many more. Starting on November 4th in three theaters and spreading to a total of 22 theaters by the end of its release run, Being Elmo should be coming to a theater near you. For a complete list of theaters and cities showing the film, click the link to Being Elmo's official Theatrical Press Release.

Our friend Matt James from Party Ideas By a Pro has sent us a link to the website where one of their latest blog posts is all about fantastic Elmo Birthday Party ideas, including food recipes that all look like Elmo (see right), party favors, decorations, party games, and more all themed around everyone's favorite furry red monster. If I had a little kid I know I couldn't keep myself from throwing him/her an Elmo-themed birthday bash... so now all of you readers with kids have to do it so I can live vicariously through you.

Awhile back we mentioned that the SpiritHoods company was making a series of Muppet-themed SpiritHoods (which are basically furry little hat-arm things). We have semi-exclusive pictures to reveal here for you featuring kid and adult SpiritHoods themed around Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and Animal. Check out the pictures below!

 Gonzo Hood (Kid's)
 Kermit Hood (Kid's)
 Animal Hood (Kid's)
 Animal Shawl (Adult)
 Kermit Hood (Adult)
Miss Piggy Shawl (Adult)

These SpiritHoods obviously aren't for everyone. But we'd love to hear your thoughts on them!

Check back tomorrow for an exciting update on Sesame Street's 42nd season!

The Muppets Get Into the Spirit(Hoods)

The fine folks over at the SpiritHoods company have emailed us an inquiry about giving a big mention for their upcoming line of SpiritHoods. What are SpiritHoods, you ask? And what business does The Muppet Mindset have talking about them? Well... I'll answer both questions right... now.

That's the most spirited hood I've ever seen.
SpiritHoods are fuzzy, warm, hat-like things that hip, young guys and gals (like me, obviously) (says the guy who runs a Muppet website) are wearing to keep their heads (and on some... their hands?) warm when it's cold. Apparently this is a very popular trend that I hadn't heard anything about before a representative from the company emailed me.

As it turns out, the fine folks over at SpiritHoods will be working with Disney to produce a series of Muppet-themed SpiritHoods to look like Kermit, Fozzie, Animal, Miss Piggy, and... I dunno, Thog? Seems to be the direction we're heading. Anyway... SpiritHoods is making these to promote this falls The Muppets.

We're happy to announce that we're starting a team-up that involves we here at The Muppet Mindset informing you, there, at the outside of The Muppet Mindset, all about these exciting upcoming products and the SpiritHoods people sending us some cool exclusive updates and looks at the Hoods as they get closer to release. This all starts with a "teaser trailer" for the SpiritHoods featuring Animal. Give it a look and enjoy! We'll keep you up to date on this exciting new product for The Muppets!
